I am truly honored and excited to be back in the Tahoma School District and part of the Maple View community as a Golden Bear! After graduating from the University of Puget Sound, I started my educational leadership journey in 1997 as a teacher in this same building I write this message in today. I have served in various roles throughout my educational career including high school science teacher, athletic coach, K-12 instructional coach and recently as a middle school administrator in the Issaquah school district.

I have two daughters that have attended Tahoma schools since Kindergarten. My oldest Gracie will be a senior and my youngest daughter Emmarie will be a 6th grader.  I am blessed to have planted roots in Maple Valley along with my wife Jessica who serves our area as a licensed mental health counselor.

Even though this year has been incredibly challenging for our MVMS community I am deeply grateful for the grit and heart that has been on full display. Thank you for the amazing support you have given our students and the incredible empathy that has been exchanged between teachers, students and families.

I am truly blessed to be part of the MVMS community and it has been a privilege to be your principal. Looking forward to Locking Arms and Leading with the Heart in 2021-2022!

Dean of Students Pam McKinney

Maple View Middle school is now in its fourth year, and we are learning things daily about how to come together to create the kind of community we are proud to be a part of.  Our emphasis is how to promote kindness, inclusiveness, and the idea that “everyone has a story” and it’s worth listening to. I am so looking forward to helping students learn about themselves as they are successful as well as when they make mistakes. Some of our best learning is when we experience failure. Our teachers are thoughtful, encouraging, hardworking, and dedicated to this process. I know that parents play an important role in how their students arrive every morning, how invested they feel in school, as well as helping them to discover where their skills will best support Maple View in becoming its "best self". Thank you for your support and positive input as we team together to help your students
Become "Excellent, Accepting, Respectful, and Safe" members of our school and community.
